I was cordially invited to Prophetik’s catwalk show at Freemasons’ Hall where Jeff Garner of Prophetik presented his AW12 collection ‘Courtly Love’ as part of London Fashion Week.
The show started with a dramatic film presented by CoCo Eco Magazine, describing the issues of environmental conservation and wildlife rehabilitation faced by the Lawrence Anthony Foundation.
Before the catwalk began, there was also an elaborate classical piece performed by a violinist which helped set the tone of the show.
Prophetik’s new AW2012 collection is inspired by Princess Grace being courted by the noble and dandy gentleman.
The show was inspired by romance, and how a gentleman should treat a lady. The catwalk, collection and dashing male models was in essence, all created to make us swoon.
The splashes of peach, white and pink were all very feminine and the upbringing of Garner in the Deep South, Tennessee shines through in the Southern belle style inspired dresses.
This dress shown below had a hemp and silk blend with an incredibly sexy back.
Here’s my favourite dress from the collection – gorgeous bow!
Romance came through this sustainable fashion line, also in the men’s clothing.
Jeff Garner used reworked antique quilts, reminiscent of his Grandma’s, within the line but brought this up to date, with the modern woman in mind.
Make up was directed by Jo Sugar, sponsored by The Body Shop. Shoes were 282 Portabella Road and accessories: Adorn by Prophetik. The music was by Courtney Blackman’s Sofa and had a ‘want-to-get-up-from-your-seat’ remix of Whitney Houston’s ‘I wanna dance with somebody’.
Here’s the last few shots from the show:
