The New Eldon Leisure with Vertigo Climbing, Eldon Bowl and Gym – Now Open!

It’s had a £3M makeover and Eldon Leisure has officially launched with a brand new gym, cyclone area, tenpin bowling alley, soft play area and adventure climbing centre. It’s right in the middle of town, within intu Eldon Square. Currently with all the building works happening, it’s a bit of a hidden treasure. I headed in to check it all out!

As it’s only recently opened, we had the whole place to ourselves and it was so much fun. You don’t have to be an experienced climber. They pretty much hook you up to a pulley thing (technical explanation there) which means you can just get climbing straight away. It’s fantastic for families this summer holiday but also a great time out for mates.

On our way to Eldon Bowl, the bowling alley within the same venue, we checked out the new gym and cyclone area – both sparkly new and impressive with the latest gadgets and bikes.

With it being new, the shoes are all fresh and you can even pick themes for your score boards. We went with Ninja Strike!

We’d booked in for the climbing for an hour and then bowling for an hour, which made a great night out with friends. However, it’d still be fun to just have a bowling night and at the moment, there’s a top deal where you can book a lane for £25 (for up to 6 people) for an hour!

At the moment, as it’s only just opened, there’s plenty of great deals. It’s great to discover such a hidden gem at the mo, in the middle of town. It won’t be long though until it’s absolutely swamped, so make sure you check it out on the Eldon Leisure website here!
