Hello. I’m Sandra Tang, by day I’m the Marketing and Events manager at Newcastle NE1, by evening – a fashion, lifestyle and events blogger at The Chicest.
I have a slight addiction to shoes, and a slight allergy to Michael Buble (there’s something about him that freaks me out), but apart from that I’m a pretty normal girl about town.
I’m a BBC (British Born Chinese) and I’m often compared to Myleene Klass, Lucy Lui, that girl who cooks Chinese food on the telly and just about every other semi-famous Chinese face you’ll have seen, including Jackie Chan on a bad day.
I’ve worked in TV, radio, digital, fashion, music, teaching, events, advertising and much more. I’ve recently been an associate lecturer at Northumbria University, teaching Fashion Communications. I now work at Newcastle City Centre’s Business Improvement District, Newcastle NE1, on Marketing, Events and look after our digital campaigns including @newcastlene1
I run NE1′s Newcastle Fashion Week, which is my little baby, having created and organised the whole shebang. For an insight of what a day is like in the life of running an event of this scale, check out one of my past blog posts on the Frock and Roll event.
I’ve been featured in Grazia Daily, Luxe Magazine, Sanderson Young Magazine, Look Magazine and others media. I was Look Magazine’s Style Search Winner and I’m an Official Blogger for Manchester Fashion Week.
