It’s Friday and I’m down in London for London Fashion Week, one of the highlights of my year. Will be tweeting live from the scene – feel free to follow me @sandiebeach
I’ll be updating my blog soon with posts about how the week went but in the meantime, feel free to check out my previous posts about London Fashion Week here:
London Fashion Week, Sept 2011 including Jasper Garvida, Ziad Ghanem, Bryce Aime amongst others AND the cutest thing I ever saw in any fashion week ever!
More London Fashion Week, Sept 2011 with photos of Paul Smith and star spots including Katie Melua & Pandemonium.
This year, there’s lots of great shows on again, including one of my favourite designers – Christian Blanken. Check out his current collection here.

London Fashion Week – WOW, what a week and the excitement built before London Fashion Week event started. Lots of lovely invites in the post, e-invites and the build up from the flurry of activity on Twitter.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to head down to London on the Friday so missed some great catwalks and events. However, what a website and how fantastic are the Twitter updates from the British Fashion Council?! There were live pics of Eudon Choi on Twitter and I watched the PPQ show streamed live from the BFC’s Official website. Check out the screenshot below of the live show with the gorgeous Charlotte Free – who was the talk of the town with her pink hair.
One of my favourite things about the PPQ catwalk though were the amazing socks from Bebaroque.
Hard to capture how stunning they were. Make sure you check out their full collection on their website.
Once down in London, the whole week was a blur. Managed to see Spjikers en Spjikers – check out the front and back of this dress! Their theme was of one of my favourite literary characters – Scheherazade from 1001 Nights.
I was lucky enough to snag tickets to the fantastic Paul Smith – one of my favourite shows, where I spotted Natalie Massenet and stroked the very cute Stylist’s pug, Lenny (who was wearing Mulberry and better dressed than I was).
I managed to catch the Bryce Aime event at the penthouse suite at the Mayfair hotel, who’s outfits have also recently been spotted on Xfactor. Check out her blog and that Xfactor dress here.
Jasper Garvida was lush. I HAVE to get a silver mac – ever since the Burberry one, I’ve lusted after one for years and his was really stunning. His collection was slick and very wearable. Star spots at Garvida at the Bloomsbury Hotel were Katie Melua & Lady V Hervey.
For all his images of the show, view Christopher Dadey’s photographs here.
I visited the exhibition at Somerset House (where I spotted StyleBubble – WOW!) and at Vauxhall Fashion Scout. I also caught a few shows at VFS including Felicities Presents, Lako Bukia, Jacob Kimmie, and another one of my favourites Ziad Ghanem. Make sure you catch the video to see what all the fuss was about and if you think you can handle more – then don’t miss Part 2 of it. Can it get even crazier?!
I got some great backstage photos here too, will upload soon. After the show, I met the beautiful Pandemonia and her little pup too. What was it with me and London Fashion Week this year and all the cute little dogs?! Here’s one of the backstage photos for now.
I also managed to catch a few presentations, my favourite being Christian Blanken. A very chic mirror display and a collection to DIE for. One of my favourite designers of London Fashion Week. His website here.
I finished the week with London Fashion Weekend – a great event for the public and highly recommended. Had to see Wayne Hemingway’s vintage section. He was so lovely to work with on Newcastle Fashion Week and here, he did a great job. My favourite thing about London Fashion Weekend though has to be meeting the utterly brilliant Angela Buttolph! Been a big fan for years and can’t believe she was in the Levi’s section. She’s the editor of Grazia Online now (who also ran a competition for Newcastle Fashion Week with us and Barbour earlier this year). Here’s my cheesy fan pic with her!
However to finish off my London Fashion Week, post, the two most stylish people I met during London Fashion Week has to be my third cousin Eira, whom I met for the first time that week, only a few months old and my beautiful, beautiful Godson who’s rocking this fireman bike helmet. Give him his own show!
